Cannabis In The News
- Canadian grocery giant Loblaws pushing Ontario government to change cannabis retail rules: Whatâs your thoughts about grocery chains entering the cannabis game? While the idea of buying cannabis alongside groceries is interesting, I have reservations about large corps entering the industry without a real connection to the plant, viewing it more as a profit-driven move. Supporting local dispos is important to me because most store owners have a genuine passion and connection for the plant and canna-community. Whar are your thoughts on this?
- Study Shows Weed May Impair Performance of Older Drivers: High Times published this article based on the findings of the study published in JAMA Network Open. However, upon closer examination of the study, it becomes apparent that the research was conducted on a relatively small sample size of 31 individuals aged 65-79 in Toronto, Canada. While the study meticulously outlines its variables, processes, and procedures, its limited scope raises questions about the generalizability of the results to broader populations. Given the importance of understanding the impact of cannabis on driving across different age groups, further research involving larger and more diverse samples would be beneficial to provide a comprehensive understanding of the topic.
- Daily dosing of cannabidiol (CBD) demonstrates a positive effect on measures of stress in dogs during repeated exposure to car travel: I had a family dog growing up who had really bad car anxiety whenever we had to go somewhere. I would try everything from hugging him, singing to him, bringing treats, nothing would work. I almost wish I had the opportunity to try CBD with him. For those of you interested in trying this out with your furry friends, I recommend 1) speaking with your vet ahead of time! They can give you a better understanding of dosing for your dog and 2) checking out my CBD dog treat recipe which you can find here.
