What Exactly Is Caramel Brûlée?

Caramel Brûlée, a decadent delight often associated with indulgent desserts, is a culinary marvel that combines the rich, sweet charm of caramel with the crisp allure of a perfectly torched sugar crust. The term "Brûlée" comes from French, meaning "burnt" or "toasted," and in the context of this treat, it refers to the thin layer of sugar on top that's caramelized to create a delightful contrast of textures.

The process involves infusing sugar with heat until it transforms into a golden, crispy crust, which is then cracked to reveal the luscious caramel beneath. This technique is frequently employed in desserts like custards and, of course, the beloved Caramel Brûlée Latte. In this context, the essence of caramelized sugar becomes the star, adding a layer of sophistication and a satisfying crunch to the velvety sweetness of caramel. So, when you indulge in a Caramel Brûlée Latte, you're not just sipping on a drink; you're savouring a harmonious blend of textures and flavours that dance on your palate.

Ingredient Substitutions

When it comes to crafting your own mocktails at home, the possibilities for personalization are as vast as your creativity allows. Here are some cannabis infusion substitutions you can make from home.

Dissolvable Cannabis Powder:

  • Elevates the Mocktini experience with a subtle, distinctive note.
  • It provides a unique way to infuse a touch of relaxation into the rich flavours.
  • Allows for a customizable cannabis infusion, catering to individual preferences.

Infused Butter:

  • Adding some canna butter to this recipe and making what we like to call a "bullet" coffee, would be a great way to mix the plant into this latte.

TIPS & TRICKS

  • For an added boost of elevation use my cannabis infused maple syrup recipe!

Step 1: Calculate Potency For Your Infusion

Calculate total batch potency by entering product weight (grams), THC/THCA percentage, and CBD/CBDA percentage. Get total THC and CBD in milligrams (mg) for dosing.

(flower, wax, oil, etc)

THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the psychoactive compound in cannabis, while THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is its non-psychoactive precursor found in raw cannabis

CBD (cannabidiol) is a psychoactive compound in cannabis known for its potential therapeutic benefits, while CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) is the precursor to CBD found in raw cannabis, which needs to be decarboxylated (heated) to become CBD with active properties.

(ie. butter, olive oil, coconut oil, MCT oil, alcohol)
