Let’s Talk Spritz

Spritz, a beloved and versatile cocktail category, traces its origins back to Northern Italy, particularly the Veneto region, where the iconic Aperol Spritz and the classic Venetian Spritz originated. Originally named "Spritz Veneziano," these concoctions were born out of the tradition of diluting strong wines with soda water to create a more palatable and refreshing beverage. Today, the spritz has evolved into a global sensation, celebrated for its effervescence, vibrant colours, and customizable nature.

With a typical composition of a base spirit, a splash of soda water, and a bitter liqueur, spritzes offer endless possibilities for creativity. In the sober community, the spritz has gained particular popularity due to its adaptability to non-alcoholic bases. Combining elements like non-alcoholic spirits, flavoured syrups, and fresh juices, the mocktail version retains the spritz's signature effervescence, making it a go-to for those seeking a sophisticated and refreshing alcohol-free option. The spritz's appeal lies not only in its taste but also in its ability to capture the essence of celebration without the need for alcohol, making it a delightful choice for a wide range of occasions.

Ingredient Substitutions

When it comes to crafting your own mocktails at home, the possibilities for personalization are as vast as your creativity allows. Here are some cannabis infusion substitutions you can make from home.

  • Dissolvable Cannabis Powder: Elevates the spritz experience with a subtle, distinctive note. If you don't have an ampoule I'd recommend this as an alternative!

FAQ

Q: Can I use a different type of juice instead of cranberry juice?

A: Yes, you can substitute cranberry juice with another juice like pomegranate or apple juice. Just keep in mind that it will change the flavor profile of the drink.

Q: What can I use if I don’t have cinnamon syrup?

A: If you don’t have cinnamon syrup, you can make a quick substitute by mixing a bit of simple syrup with ground cinnamon or use a store-bought cinnamon-flavored syrup if available. Adjust the amount to taste.

Step 1: Calculate Potency For Your Infusion

Calculate total batch potency by entering product weight (grams), THC/THCA percentage, and CBD/CBDA percentage. Get total THC and CBD in milligrams (mg) for dosing.

(flower, wax, oil, etc)

THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the psychoactive compound in cannabis, while THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is its non-psychoactive precursor found in raw cannabis

CBD (cannabidiol) is a psychoactive compound in cannabis known for its potential therapeutic benefits, while CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) is the precursor to CBD found in raw cannabis, which needs to be decarboxylated (heated) to become CBD with active properties.

(ie. butter, olive oil, coconut oil, MCT oil, alcohol)
