What is Chai?

Chai, originating from the Indian subcontinent, is a warm and aromatic beverage that has captured hearts worldwide.

At its core, chai is a blend of black tea and a fragrant mix of spices, often including cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and black pepper. Its history dates back over 5,000 years, with its roots in ancient Ayurvedic traditions. Chai's allure lies not only in its tantalizing flavours but also in its potential health benefits. The combination of spices in chai is believed to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and digestive properties. Ginger and cinnamon may help regulate blood sugar, while cardamom can aid in digestion.

Moreover, the caffeine content in black tea provides a gentle energy boost without the jittery effects of coffee. Whether sipped for its comforting taste or cherished for its potential wellness perks, chai remains a beloved beverage with a rich and flavorful heritage.

FAQ

Q: Can I make this beverage hot rather than iced?

A: You can definitely make this drink hot rather than cold! Instead of combining your milk, syrup and cannabis oil to cold milk in a glass and frothing, add it all to a pot on low-medium heat and front once warmed up. That’ll make the milk all frothy and hot for you to add to your powder mix.

Q: Do I need to add whipped cream to this latte?

A: You certainly don’t need to add the whipped cream to this drink; however, in this recipe, the infused part of the drink is in the whipped cream. If you choose to go sans whipped cream and you still want your drink to be infused then add your infusion to the milk portion of the regular chai recipe.

Q: Is chai spicy?

A: No, chai is typically not spicy although it does often have strong spiced notes from the spice blend used for it. You can adjust this recipe to your preferred taste when it comes to the spices so if you’re looking for something a bit more subtle, just use less than the recommended amount.

Step 1: Calculate Potency For Your Infusion

Calculate total batch potency by entering product weight (grams), THC/THCA percentage, and CBD/CBDA percentage. Get total THC and CBD in milligrams (mg) for dosing.

(flower, wax, oil, etc)

THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the psychoactive compound in cannabis, while THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is its non-psychoactive precursor found in raw cannabis

CBD (cannabidiol) is a psychoactive compound in cannabis known for its potential therapeutic benefits, while CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) is the precursor to CBD found in raw cannabis, which needs to be decarboxylated (heated) to become CBD with active properties.

(ie. butter, olive oil, coconut oil, MCT oil, alcohol)
