About The Recipe

I'm beyond excited to bring you a taste of pure magic that was born from my recent adventure as a mixologist and educator at an unforgettable elevated dinner party. During this event, I had the opportunity of crafting two sensational cannabis-infused drinks that took everyone's taste buds by storm. Among them, my personal favourite stands out the sensational cannabis-infused spicy mango passionfruit margarita.

Brace yourself for a symphony of flavours as you experience the delightful fusion of spicy jalapenos, sweet mango, and tropical passionfruit. Every element of this concoction, from the mesmerizing rim to the irresistibly velvety texture, is designed to dazzle your senses.

Don't just take my word for it, though; my emptied juice jars are a testament to its irresistible allure. Don’t forget to check out my curated list of cannabis infused beverages for more elevated mocktail ideas.

Where Did the Margarita Come From?

The classic margarita has been one of the world’s most favourite cocktails for a long time - but where did it come from? The truth is, it’s hard to say who exactly was responsible for the creation of the cocktail but one very popular story is that a Dallas socialite named Margaret Sames claims to have created it at her house in Acapulco which featured a guest list of very influential hotel and restaurant owners. These house guests then supposedly took the cocktail recipe with them and shared it to wider society.

What is more likely though, is that it is a derivative from the very popular Daisy cocktails which circulated around that time. These cocktails consisted of a base spirit, a curacao, and a citrus (like a sidecar). Margarita is actually Spanish for Daisy so this was a nod to the original Daisy that came before it.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Sweet and Spicy — this recipe is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy with a beautifully balanced blend of simple syrup and jalapeno.
  • Super quick and easy - Since you’ve already got a pre canned infused bevi for this recipe, the infusion process is very easy!

Ingredient Substitutions

  • Jalapeno: Honestly, this ingredient can be optional. If you’re not someone who likes spice feel free to leave this out of the recipe OR if you’re a huge spice fan feel free to take it to the next level and get a spicier pepper in there!
  • Tajin: This is totally optional, but I added tajin to the rim of my glass. There’s nothing better to me than a tajin rimmed beverage regardless of what it is but I know that some people love or hate it so feel free to opt out.
  • Infused Sparkling Water: If you don't have any infused sparkling water on hand, regular is totally fine! Just add my dissolvable plant powder or infused maple syrup to the recipe so you still get that awesome infusion.

  • If you can, fresh ingredients are always the way to go for this recipe including the citrus. The lime is part of what makes a good margarita so the more fresh the better!

FAQ

Q: Does this drink have to be passionfruit flavoured?

A: Absolutely not! I love it there because it adds a super refreshing flavour to the margarita but feel free to remove the passionfruit and go for a regular margarita instead.

Q: How long does this margarita take to kick in?

A: Cannabis infused beverages are considered to be a cannabis edible, which means that they have to be ingested and processed by your liver before heading up to your blood brain barrier. The onset of cannabis edibles can range from person to person, and can also be impacted by a variety of factors, such as one’s metabolism. Generally cannabis edibles can take anywhere from 30 minutes all the way to 2 hours for the onset, and the experience can last between 4 to 12 hours.

Q: How strong is this margarita?

A: The dosage is really up to you and how much you’d like to add in. Depending on how strong the drink itself is you may want to add less or more but always remember to start low and go slow!

Step 1: Calculate Potency For Your Infusion

Calculate total batch potency by entering product weight (grams), THC/THCA percentage, and CBD/CBDA percentage. Get total THC and CBD in milligrams (mg) for dosing.

(flower, wax, oil, etc)

THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the psychoactive compound in cannabis, while THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is its non-psychoactive precursor found in raw cannabis

CBD (cannabidiol) is a psychoactive compound in cannabis known for its potential therapeutic benefits, while CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) is the precursor to CBD found in raw cannabis, which needs to be decarboxylated (heated) to become CBD with active properties.

(ie. butter, olive oil, coconut oil, MCT oil, alcohol)
