Where Does Dragonfruit Come From?

Dragonfruit or Pitahaya is widely cultivated around the world especially in Southeast Asia. It’s common name in English takes after its leather-like skin and green scales which form on the outside of the fruit. It’s texture is very similar to that of a kiwi and the fruit itself is generally very sweet and juicy.

The fruit has become popularized for its use in beverages and cocktails as its a refreshing addition and produces a large amount of juice. There are various species of Dragonfruit which are often different colours including dark pink, white and even yellow!

  • Very customizable — Prefer a sweeter mocktail? Add some extra simple syrup. Or alternatively, remove the syrup completely if you want something less sweet!
  • A quick infusion - Nowadays there are so many different infused sparkling waters, so grab one from your local plant shop and add to your mocktail!

Ingredient Substitutions

  • Infused Sparkling Water: If you’d prefer regular sparkling water as opposed to infused, feel free to pick up some dissolvable plant powder to make your instead of the sparkling water!

FAQ

Q: Can I add regular alcohol to this infused mocktail?

A: I wouldn’t recommend adding alcohol to this infused mocktail as mixing alcohol and cannabis can lead to exacerbated effects of both substances. Mixing both can augment the effects of each and could lead to really negative side effects.

Q: How long will this mocktail take to kick in?

A: Cannabis infused sparkling water is considered to be a cannabis edible, which means that it has to be ingested and processed by your liver before heading up to your blood brain barrier. The onset of cannabis edibles can range from person to person, and can also be impacted by a variety of factors, such as one’s metabolism. Generally cannabis edibles can take anywhere from 30 minutes all the way to 2 hours for the onset, and the experience can last between 4 to 12 hours.

Step 1: Calculate Potency For Your Infusion

Calculate total batch potency by entering product weight (grams), THC/THCA percentage, and CBD/CBDA percentage. Get total THC and CBD in milligrams (mg) for dosing.

(flower, wax, oil, etc)

THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the psychoactive compound in cannabis, while THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is its non-psychoactive precursor found in raw cannabis

CBD (cannabidiol) is a psychoactive compound in cannabis known for its potential therapeutic benefits, while CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) is the precursor to CBD found in raw cannabis, which needs to be decarboxylated (heated) to become CBD with active properties.

(ie. butter, olive oil, coconut oil, MCT oil, alcohol)
