About The Recipe

I’d like to start by saying that whoever invented edible cookie dough deserves a big hug.

As a fervent fan of edible cookie dough when it gained popularity, I embraced my enthusiasm by creating a cannabis-infused version for you to enjoy.

This recipe offers a delightful trip down memory lane, combining the comforting flavours of classic cookie dough with the added twist of cannabis infusion. Now, you can indulge in the sweet nostalgia of cookie dough snacking while embracing the elevated experience that comes with it.

What is Cookie Dough?

Cookie dough, a beloved pre-baked treat, consists of a mixture of butter, sugar, flour, and other ingredients, providing the irresistible taste of cookies in their raw form. The creation of edible cookie dough arose from the widespread love of sneaking bites of uncooked dough, despite warnings of raw flour and eggs. This led to the emergence of safe-to-eat, egg-free cookie dough variations specifically designed for raw consumption.

The history of cookie dough traces back to the mid-20th century, gaining popularity in households and as an indulgent addition to ice cream. The edible cookie dough trend soared in the late 2010s, with commercial brands and homemade recipes flourishing. Its appeal lies not only in the delectable taste but also in the nostalgic joy it brings, allowing individuals to enjoy the familiar flavours of childhood without the concern of food safety. Today, edible cookie dough stands as a testament to the enduring love for this classic treat, providing a safe and delicious way to indulge in the raw goodness of cookie dough.

Ingredient Substitutions

  • Maple Syrup: Substitute the maple syrup with monkfruit sweetener or sugar-free maple syrup that’s made from monkfruit / erythritol. You can also use other liquid sweeteners like honey but I prefer the maple syrup taste for this particular dessert. Feel like elevating your infusion even further? Use my infused maple syrup recipe!
  • Almond Flour: Substitute the almond flour for oat flour if you have a nut allergy.
  • Vanilla Extract: I recommend using natural vanilla extract but it can be on the more expensive side. If you only have artificial, that works too. This ingredient is important because it helps mask some of the cannabis herby taste.
  • Cannabis Infused Olive Oil: Feel free to substitute MCT oil or coconut oil.
  • Dairy Free Milk: Almond and oat milk are always my go-to dairy free options. Some other milks that you can use instead are: coconut milk, rice milk, cows milk, chickpea milk, or soy milk.
  • Stevia Sweetened Chocolate Chips: I like to use stevia sweetened ones just because regular chocolate chips use alot of processed sugars that can spike your bloog sugar. Stevia has 0g of sugar and is a great option for anyone watching their weight or who may have diabetes.

TIPS & TRICKS

  • Add a little bit of dairy free milk at a time. This ingredient is going to be very helpful in getting the right consistency and thickness of the cookie dough. Different almond and coconut flours will have different absorption rates of the dairy free milk, so you might have to use more or less than what the recipe calls for.
  • Chill the cookie dough before serving for the best texture (imo!) It really resembles a cookie dough flavoured ice cream.

Step 1: Calculate Potency For Your Infusion

Calculate total batch potency by entering product weight (grams), THC/THCA percentage, and CBD/CBDA percentage. Get total THC and CBD in milligrams (mg) for dosing.

(flower, wax, oil, etc)

THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the psychoactive compound in cannabis, while THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is its non-psychoactive precursor found in raw cannabis

CBD (cannabidiol) is a psychoactive compound in cannabis known for its potential therapeutic benefits, while CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) is the precursor to CBD found in raw cannabis, which needs to be decarboxylated (heated) to become CBD with active properties.

(ie. butter, olive oil, coconut oil, MCT oil, alcohol)
