How did Edibles Happen?
The practice of mixing cannabis with baked goods, commonly known as "edibles," has deep historical roots. While the exact origins are challenging to pinpoint, historical records suggest that the consumption of cannabis infused foods dates back centuries. Ancient cultures recognized the therapeutic and euphoric properties of cannabis and incorporated it into various culinary creations.
In recent decades, the popularity of cannabis-infused baked goods has soared, particularly as a discreet and enjoyable way to consume the plant. The potential uses for incorporating cannabis into baked goods extend beyond recreational use. Edibles offer an alternative method for medical cannabis consumption, providing a precise and controlled dosage for individuals seeking therapeutic effects. This versatile practice has become a contemporary avenue for both recreational and medicinal cannabis enthusiasts, highlighting the diverse and evolving landscape of cannabis consumption.

Ingredient Substitutions
- Almond Flour: Oat flour is a gluten-free alternative that adds a chewy texture while being a good option for those with nut allergies. Or feel free to use regular flour if you prefer!
- Coconut Flour: All-purpose flour provides a more traditional cookie texture, making the cookies lighter and fluffier compared to the denser coconut flour.
- Coconut Sugar: Maple syrup brings a natural sweetness with a rich flavor and a lower glycemic index, adding moisture to the cookies. Feel free to elevate your infusion game and try my infused maple syrup recipe.
- Chocolate Bar: Chocolate chips are more evenly distributed in cookies and melt easily, offering a convenient and classic choice for chocolate lovers.
TIPS & TRICKS
- Chilling the dough in the fridge for 20-30 minutes helps prevent the cookies from spreading too much, ensuring a thicker, chewier texture!
- A serrated knife makes chopping chocolate easier, creating irregularly sized pieces that melt at different rates, adding more texture to the cookies.
- Be sure to spoon the almond and coconut flour into your measuring cups and level them off with a knife to avoid packing the flour, which could lead to dry cookies.

Q: Can I substitute the almond and coconut flour for another type of flour?
