What is Matcha?

Matcha is a finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea leaves. Originating from China during the Tang Dynasty, matcha was later introduced to Japan by monks who incorporated it into their meditation practices. The unique cultivation process involves shading the tea plants from sunlight for several weeks before harvest, which enhances chlorophyll production and boosts amino acid content.

Once harvested, the leaves are steamed, dried, and stone-ground into a vibrant green powder. Matcha is renowned for its rich, umami flavour and has become a central element of the Japanese tea ceremony. Health benefits associated with matcha include its high concentration of antioxidants, particularly catechins like EGCG, which are known for their cancer-fighting properties. Matcha also provides a more sustained energy boost compared to traditional steeped green tea, thanks to its combination of caffeine and the amino acid L-theanine. Additionally, matcha is believed to support metabolism, enhance mental alertness, and contribute to overall well-being.

  • Banana: Avocado can replace banana for those who prefer a less sweet option. It adds creaminess and healthy fats to the smoothie, making it smooth and satisfying while keeping the overall flavor more neutral. Avocado also pairs well with matcha and spinach, creating a silky texture without overpowering the other ingredients.

FAQ

Q: I don’t like spinach, can I use something else?

A: If you don’t like spinach no stress, you could always substitute the spinach with some kale or another leafy green of your choice! If you’re not a veggie smoothie type of person you could even substitute it with another fruit that would pair well with the banana.

Q: How long does this recipe take to kick in?

A: Cannabis smoothies are considered to be cannabis edibles, which means that they have to be ingested and processed by your liver before heading up to your blood brain barrier. The onset of cannabis edibles can range from person to person, and can also be impacted by a variety of factors, such as one’s metabolism. Generally cannabis edibles can take anywhere from 30 minutes all the way to 2 hours for the onset, and the experience can last between 4 to 12 hours.

Q: Do I have to use a dairy free milk?

A: Feel free to substitute the dairy free milk with regular cows milk if you’d prefer! Or if you’re not a fan of a creamy smoothie you could even use a natural juice of some kind.

Step 1: Calculate Potency For Your Infusion

Calculate total batch potency by entering product weight (grams), THC/THCA percentage, and CBD/CBDA percentage. Get total THC and CBD in milligrams (mg) for dosing.

(flower, wax, oil, etc)

THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the psychoactive compound in cannabis, while THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is its non-psychoactive precursor found in raw cannabis

CBD (cannabidiol) is a psychoactive compound in cannabis known for its potential therapeutic benefits, while CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) is the precursor to CBD found in raw cannabis, which needs to be decarboxylated (heated) to become CBD with active properties.

(ie. butter, olive oil, coconut oil, MCT oil, alcohol)
