Where Did Peaches & Cream Come From?

Peaches & cream, a beloved culinary combination, finds its historical roots in the southern United States, where the peach symbolizes a rich tradition of hospitality. Beyond their delectable taste, peaches offer a plethora of health benefits – packed with vitamin C, vitamin A, dietary fibre, and antioxidants like quercetin and beta-carotene, they support skin health, immune function, digestion, and may help combat inflammation and oxidative stress.

Additionally, peaches are a low-calorie, low-fat fruit, making them a guilt-free addition to any diet. So, when you enjoy peaches and cream, you not only savour a timeless treat but also nourish your body with nature's sweet and creamy goodness.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Dietary Preferences or Requirements: Individuals following a gluten-free diet due to celiac disease, gluten sensitivity, or personal preferences can enjoy a delicious dessert without worrying about gluten-related issues.
  • Refreshing Flavor: Peaches and cream just symbolize a fresh summer night to me - especially with peach season in August. This dessert is light, refreshing, and overall perfect for a warm summer evening.
  • Simple and Straightforward: This recipe is very easy to make! Very few ingredients and no baking required at all. You can easily make this dessert in 15 minutes or less!

Ingredient Substitutions

  • Rice Krispies: While this step is optional, feel free to use any sort of crunchy sweet snack like graham crackers of cheerios to give your peaches that desired crunch.
  • Half-and-Half Cream: Oat milk is a creamy, dairy-free alternative that can easily replace half-and-half cream. It has a slightly sweet and neutral flavor that pairs well with the pumpkin, maple syrup, and cannabis oil. Oat milk froths well, making it a good choice for creating a smooth and velvety cold foam. It’s also a great option for those who are lactose intolerant or prefer plant-based ingredients.
  • Maple Syrup: Agave syrup is a natural sweetener with a mild, neutral taste that won't overpower the other flavors in the mocktail. It's slightly thinner than maple syrup, which makes it easier to mix into the foam. Agave syrup also blends well with the vanilla and pumpkin, providing a subtle sweetness that complements the overall flavor profile without being too bold.

TIPS & TRICKS

  • Choose peaches that are ripe but still firm to the touch. Overripe peaches can become too soft when seared, making them difficult to handle and causing them to lose their shape. Firm peaches will caramelize beautifully, giving you that perfect balance of tender and juicy with a slight bite.
  • Before making the cannabis-infused whipping cream, place your mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes. This will help the cream whip up faster and achieve a lighter, fluffier consistency. Cold tools ensure the cream stays at the right temperature during whipping, resulting in a more stable and airy topping for your peaches.

Step 1: Calculate Potency For Your Infusion

Calculate total batch potency by entering product weight (grams), THC/THCA percentage, and CBD/CBDA percentage. Get total THC and CBD in milligrams (mg) for dosing.

(flower, wax, oil, etc)

THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the psychoactive compound in cannabis, while THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is its non-psychoactive precursor found in raw cannabis

CBD (cannabidiol) is a psychoactive compound in cannabis known for its potential therapeutic benefits, while CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) is the precursor to CBD found in raw cannabis, which needs to be decarboxylated (heated) to become CBD with active properties.

(ie. butter, olive oil, coconut oil, MCT oil, alcohol)
